“So before every decision, be sure to ask your own heart this one question: is this decision born of selfishness, or of Dharma?”
Everyone wishes to make today's decisions on the basis of the future. Everyone strives to decide today in such a way that the future will bring happiness and be secure. Look at your own life: is there not the thought of the future behind most of your decisions?

The Mahabharata is not a story about choosing right over wrong. It is about choosing when both paths violate something you value — the situation dharmic thought calls dharma-sankata, a crisis of duty. Arjuna at Kurukshetra, Yudhishthira at the dice game, Karna choosing between the friend who raised him up and the brothers he only just learned were his.
Krishna's guidance is procedural rather than a rulebook: understand what is actually yours to do, act on it fully, and do not pretend that refusing to decide is neutral. Not choosing is a choice with consequences of its own.
